gibellina landscape

GIBELLINA is a small city in the mountains of western Sicily, Italy in the Province of Trapani. It was destroyed by an earthquake in 1968. wiki gibellina.
Ruderi di Gibellina (the ruins of the city) remained just as it was after the earthquake, practically a ghost-town. Artist Alberto Burri covered the entirety of the ruins in concrete, while preserving the shape of the buildings and the streetscape.
